I love sharing gifting ideas for mother’s day. As a mom myself, it’s a group I’m somewhat familiar with, and of course, I’m familiar with what truly moms want for Mother’s Day (for the most part.)

And I think that women are some of the easiest people to buy for, yet sometimes those close to them have a hard tome thinking up good ideas. I attribute that to mental block, and I’m here to help you break through it.

Tips for gifting on Mother’s Day

The cool thing about Mother’s Day is that since you’re buying for someone you’re quite close to, the gift can be more personal. Whether you’re purchasing for a spouse who is a mother of young kids, or you’re an adult purchasing for your own mother, it helps to know what they enjoy.

These ideas span the spectrum of interests, and of course, you’ll want to choose the one that resonates most with what makes mom feel special.

Does something pampering work best? Does she just love new tchotchkes and gadgets for the house? Is she a purely practical person? Or maybe she’s a fan of hosting and setting a gorgeous table?

Start with a set of interests and branch out from there.

Gifting Ideas for Mother’s Day For the Kitchen & Home

Whenever my husband doesn’t know what to buy me, I always say “just get me anything pretty for the home!” Or useful. Or something that’ll make what I’m already doing just a bit easier…

These ideas transcend the age of mom and make some of the best gifting ideas for Mother’s Day.

Gina DeSantis Ceramics Luna Ceramic Oil Cruets

Handmade ceramics are those functional pieces of art that make you smile every time you look at it.

Gina DeSantis Ceramics creates those gorgeous homestyle pieces that feel like a blast from the past. I’m personally a big fan of the oil cruet as a functional piece of counter art – it makes cooking so much easier to have an easy-to-grab oil that’s ready to drizzle into whichever dish.

It’s also pretty to place on a table or at a well-presented salad bar for self-dressing salads. And the unique shape not only gives it an artsy vibe, but it makes the wide body easy to grab and grip. Perfect for mom!

Smithey Carbon Steel Oval Roaster

One of my best hosting hacks (and I host a lot): Cook it in something you can serve it in!

The Smithey carbon steel oval roaster is a breathtakingly beautiful piece that only improves with time and use. It is a solid roaster, hand forged in South Carolina, with a gorgeous, hammered finish, and is built to last – basically forever.

The size is perfect for a smaller roast at a larger family dinner, ribs or similar smaller meat dishes, vegetables, or fish. It makes for gorgeous platters and presentations and is one of my favorite gifting ideas for Mother’s Day for the mom who likes to host and present her food.

The Smithey oval roaster is begging to be stored on open shelving. It’s made of carbon steel, which weighs less than cast iron but features similar performance. Plus, the handles’ hand-textured finish is designed to be easy to grip, making it great for moms who might find themselves starting to age.

Fortessa Tableware Solutions Jupiter Glassware

Colored glassware adds a subtle hint of character to any tablescape, while keeping things classy. Light shines through and really catches the colors, like stained glass. It’s my new favorite tablescaping obsession.

The beautiful Jupiter glassware from Fortessa comes in subtle colors that keep things classy. They have a vintage vibe in a very sturdy glass. The textured (hobnail) glassware is like jewelry for the table.

You can turn this into a more elaborate gift basket for mom by filling each glass with chocolate, or pairing it with other Fortessa Jupiter glassware. And while I love how subtle the pink is, you can get it in other colors too – so choose Mom’s favorite!

Ello Oasis Tumblrย

Mom works hard and needs to hydrate – and there’s nothing like a fabulous tumbler to help!

The Ello Oasis is a straw-style tumbler with a large, comfortable handle that has a super cool feature: the retractable straw! Just twist the lever cover and the straw retracts. When it’s closed, it’s fully waterproof (yes, my toddler tested it…)

It has a narrower base to fit into a car cupholder, and is leakproof when closed, making it handbag-friendly. The cool on-trend colors and designs turn it into a favorite accessory. And yes, it’s fully dishwasher safe.

It’s insulated keeping coffee hot and… well, iced coffee iced. Power up, mama!

Gifting Ideas for Mother’s Day For Creative Moms

As a full time creative mom… trust me, this is WHAT the creative mom wants!

These gifting ideas for Mother’s Day include very high as well as low gift ideas for creatives, so obviously choose according to your budget. I always try to look for something “a little different” for my gift guides so while you can definitely go and stock mama up on some beads, these unique ideas are a win!

Surebonder Hot Glue Pen

Surebonder is my go-to glue gun maker these days, and a part of it is because they make innovative solutions, and not just the “same old same old”.

While their cordless mini hot glue gun is still my favorite, if you’re looking for something more unique for the crafting mom, the hot glue pen is incredible. While my main glue gun lives in the craft room, this one is perfect for having handy in a junk-drawer.

It features the same effectivity you’ll find in their fuller sized glue guns, but in a much more compact size. The trigger is easy to use and the fine tip makes detail work neater.

Cahve jewelry making kit

I can’t believe I didn’t know about Cahve’s bespoke jewelry making kits sooner but I can tell you that this is absolutely incredible. Cahve sends you everything you need to carve jewelry in specific size/style categories and you send your carving back for casting.

For moms who know how to work with their hands, this is such a unique and special gift. The whole thing comes in a gift-ready beautiful set with all the tools needed (the only thing I added was a tealight for connecting parts and smoothing my wax out – optional), and they have a library of video instructions that are beginner friendly.

The kit cost includes a casting voucher and a prepaid postage envelope for sending it back. So unless mom chooses an upgrade, it won’t cost a penny for her to complete her piece. And they’ll finish it off as well, removing scratches and changing the finishes if you request it, so it really doesn’t need to be perfect.

I spent about two hours carving this beautiful ring with absolutely no experience and can’t wait to update this post with the final results when I get it back! It is incredibly special to be able to hand-carve your own “real” jewelry.

xTool F1 Dual Laser Engraver

If you’re looking to gift Mama a really special gift that can help her set up a business – or just take a hobby to the next level – the xTool F1 is a laser engraver that is perfect for gifting.

It can engrave so many materials – including marking metal, engraving and cutting wood, leather, black acrylic, and more.

I reviewed it in depth right over here.

Gifting Ideas for Young Moms on Mother’s Day

For the young mother, you don’t necessarily want to get baby gear. In fact, I avoided straight-up baby/kid stuff here and focused on things that mom gets personal benefit from too, even though these are sort of kid-related.

GPX Projector with Bluetooth Transmitter

People don’t necessarily think about gadgets when it comes to Mother’s day, but as a mom of young kids, I can attest that there are gadgets that have been on my wishlist for a long time, including a projector!

A projector is a fabulous way to entertain the kids while freeing up the home devices for the grown-ups. But it’s also a fun way to view family photos and videos anywhere, a great tool for larger family get-togethers, and an all-around fun gadget for moms.

This projector from GPX is the perfect size for storing and pulling out when needed. And you get to create an epic at-home movie theater experience! It connects to a bluetooth speaker so you don’t get that tinny sound that some projectors are famous for.

It has all the features you want in a projector: an adjustable front foot (we needed to prop ours with two books only because were were projecting over furniture but it went quite smoothly), good contrast, and yes, a remote, all in a compact size. Check the product listing for more specs and features.

GillyGro BackPack

I love sharing diaper bags in Mother’s Day guides because they are just the perfect blend of “for mom” and usable for kids. And I thought that we were basically done with diaper bags – but then I found the ONE that I will definitely still be using for another five years!

As my kids get older, I still need to tote things around for them. GillyGro makes a “swiss army knife” backpack that is perfect for slightly older families on the go!

It has features built into it that are perfect for the toddler-and-up stage. First of all, it literally has a built-in booster seat, perfect for eating out, or even more so, hotel rooms.

The “changing pad” is much bigger, allowing me to accommodate larger kids – or use it as a picnic blanket. The mat zips into the changing station built into the back of backpack and can be removed as well.

This is just a small sampling of the many features built into the GillyGro backpack that makes it a fabulous gifting idea for Mother’s Day for moms with younger families. And yes, it CAN be used from baby and up as well.

Kindred Bravely Clea PJs

While Kindred Bravely is known for their nursing-friendly and maternity products, their amazing line for pampering moms doesn’t end there.

The Clea Bamboo Pajamas set is great for nursing, but due to the button down top, it doesn’t feel like a nursing set, taking young moms past the first stage. The bamboo fabric is heavenly soft, breathable, temperature regulating, and totally feels pampering. And it has pockets!!

As a mom who’s juggling a lot, good sleep makes or breaks how I manage, how I react, how much I accomplish. Good sleep starts with comfort, and this is a fabulous pampering gifts for moms – nursing or otherwise! And yeah, it even looks good, which makes it great for lounging in too.

(The blanket shown in the photos makes a fabulous Mother’s Day gift as well – find it here!)

Mother’s Day Gifting Ideas For Grandmas

Let’s not forget the grandmas on Mother’s Day! While many Mother’s Day guides focus on moms who are still in the kids-at-home stage, I find that no one quite celebrates moms like the kids who are now moms themselves!

These ideas are perfect for celebrating moms who are also your kids’ grandparents…

PILA-BARRE “Hot Grandmas Don’t Slip” socks

Yes, you need the right candidate for these socks, but if you have a proud hot Grandma in your life, you know that this is absolutely the perfect gift!

These luxurious, comfortable socks are made from cotton and breathable, and feature the adorable quote “Hot grandmas don’t slip” among hearts in a grippy surface at the bottom.

They’re perfect for grandmothers who own their stage with pride and grace.

Metal Photo Prints

Grandparents tend to miss those little monsters – so why not have them front and center in their home?

My favorite way to gift photos is ready-to-hang and these metal prints are so sleek and gorgeous. They just fit with any style decor!

You can turn gifting ready-to-hang photos into a Mother’s Day tradition.
