What to do with this glitter leaves craft when you’re done glamming it
I love a craft that’s an open-ended element for further crafts. That’s what these glitter leaves are all about. It just shows you how to make a basic element to use in various settings.
But what would this post be without a few ideas to get your inspo going? Here are a few things you can try – but please don’t limit yourself to these!

Things to make with this fall leaves craft:
- Tape them to branches and gather in a vase for a fun fall centerpiece.
- String them onto a piece of twine to make a garland.
- Hang them from string as pictured here and hang from a fireplace mantel (far from the flames), an entryway, or anywhere that things look nice hanging…
- Make them in big for a wall display.
- Frame your classroom bulletin board.
- Even better, decorate the school library door with them.
- Tape them to craft sticks as bookmarks.
- Make them in mini for your scrapbooking pages
- Turn them into greeting cards.
- Tape them onto Thanksgiving placecards.
- Scatter them on your Thanksgiving table.
- String them and tie them around napkins for Thanksgiving.
I can go on and on and on… Use them for anything you may use faux leaves for!

What you need to make this glitter leaves craft
- Book pages – the older and more torn apart, the better! If you need, you can print book pages like this here.
- Pencil
- Glitter – check out some biodegradable glitter options here. Or, use glitter glue
- White school glue – if not using glitter glue
- Scissor
- Cotton twine – optional
- A leaf to trace
- Optional: Mod Podge to seal your glitter and make it shed-free
How to make glitter leaves
1. Trace a maple leaf on a piece of paper. If you can’t find one, you can print leaf templates here.

2. Cut it out (cue Uncle Joey).

3. Outline the outer cm or whatever you’d like with white glue in a thin layer.

4. Pour on glitter and pour off excess.

5. If you’d like the leaves to hang, you can glue cotton twine to the end and hang them from a mantle. Or string them from a longer length of twine as a garland.
