Mommy Hack: DIY Upcycle Baby Food Containers to a Bath Cup
I’ve been looking for ways to upcycle baby food containers. Inspiration hit me during bathtime. This two minute fix is more functional than pretty but we’ve been using it and loving it in the weeks since I’ve done it! I’ve been using Gerber baby foods, which come in these plastic containers. I don’t know if any other brands come in plastic containers such as these – if you know of one, feel free to share in the comments below!
The wide spout gives a good flow, better than most of the commercial cups.
The long and narrow shape, combined with the texture of the plastic makes it easy to grip.
You Need:
- One baby food container from Gerber baby cereals
- Sharp scissors
- A Permanent marker
- A craft knife
Instructions:
- Draw an outline as pictured on the cereal container
- Cut along the line with the craft knife
- Trim markings and uneven edges with scissors
- Bathe child and enjoy!
I couldn’t think of any ways to decorate that would both withstand the constant wet and be baby safe. If you think of any, please let me know, and post your photos to my facebook page!Â

I have one of those containers. I used it to place grocery bags in and placed it in our van just in case someone gets sick or we take a road trip and need a trash bag. I also have one I placed (also filled with grocery bags) in a diaper bag to use for disposable diapers.
That is genius – thanks for sharing!
